“My aunty has had two brain haemorrhages: one in 2020 and one in 2023. I have helped look after her in the aftermath of these, and know how hard recovery is for people who have a stroke and those close to them. I hope that by being on the Patient Advisory Group for ASPIRING, I can be a part of a study which will improve recovery for people like my aunty in future, and help take away the constant fear of having subsequent strokes.

I currently work for a charity that helps people plan ahead for their end-of-life care, ensuring their wishes are respected should they lose capacity (for example from a stroke, dementia, and other injuries or illnesses).”
