ASPIRING is Open to Recruitment in Edinburgh (10Sep2025)
On Wednesday 10th September, we opened The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to recruitment. We are delighted to have reached this milestone and would like to thank Dr Neshika Samarasekera and the team in Edinburgh for their hard work to get the study open. The team have wasted no time and have already recruited the first two participants to the study this week.
We look forward to welcoming many more sites across the UK, Netherlands, Canada, Belgium and Australia in the coming months.
Web-based Registration of Interest is Live (08Sep2025)
The webform for self-referrals to the ASPIRING Study is now available on our homepage. People who have suffered a stroke, their relatives or their carers, can now complete a form to register interest in taking part in ASPIRING. Details entered on the form will be passed along to our hospitals taking part across the UK and they will contact you to discuss your eligibility to take part.

Website launch (02Dec2024)
We couldn’t resist a soft launch of the ASPIRING study website. We’re so pleased with the look and feel of the site, and the information that it contains about the study and clinical trials in general, that we released it today. More sections will be added soon, in anticipation of the trial opening in 2025.
