Register interest

If you live in England, Wales, or Scotland, you have been diagnosed with a brain haemorrhage, and you are interested in taking part in ASPIRING, this is where you or your representative can register your interest.

With your consent we’ll share the information you provide with ASPIRING investigators at hospitals close to you, so they can contact you about taking part in the study when they are ready.

We are working hard to set up as many hospitals as we can for ASPIRING. Pressures on the healthcare system may mean that some hospitals are slow to be ready, or never become ready.

ASPIRING investigators need information from patients’ medical records and brain scans. This means that usually they cannot assess patients who have been seen at another hospital, unless the medical records and brain scans can be transferred.

Please be aware that the University of Edinburgh are not responsible for the security of your own personal devices when used as part of this study. For best practice advice when using your own device see this National Cyber Security Centre guidance page.

The information you provide will be sent by The University of Edinburgh to ASPIRING hospitals to communicate with you about taking part. We’re storing your personal details (including IP addresses and cookie identifiers) because you have given us your explicit consent.  

We’ll hold the personal data you provide for five years. It will be stored securely on a server at The University of Edinburgh and will only be accessed by University of Edinburgh and ASPIRING study staff.

If you decide you don’t want to take part in the study and don’t want to be contacted by us again, please contact us on Loth.ASPIRING@nhs.scot or 0131 537 2944 and we will delete your personal data.

We will share your personal data with your nearest ASPIRING hospitals. If you received a letter of invitation to take part from NHS England, and you decide to register your interest in ASPIRING on this website, we will also send your personal identifiers back to NHS England so that they know you’ve replied to that letter.

We’ll not share your data with any other third party.
